We have 4 females that are great livestock guardians with sheep experience and gentle souls. Blanca, Luna, Sophi and Dixie. Our dogs are OFA tested for hip or health issues. Next litter

Our dogs primary responsibility is taking care of our sheep. We are not a “professional” breeder so we let nature take its course and from time to time we have a litter of really wonderful puppies. We reserve the right to select the best home for each puppy. At present, we would expect a minimum of a 6 month wait from the time you make a deposit to when you are able to pick up a puppy. There are cancellations that could reduce the timing. If you are interested in reserving a puppy, please click on the button below to fill out the reservation form and make the deposit.

Our puppies cost $1200 each and require a $300 deposit after completing the reservation form. We will respond about the expected availability of the next litter when we receive your reservation form. If you decide to cancel the reservation within 4 weeks before the scheduled pick up time of your puppy, we will refund 75% of your deposit. If you cancel after 4 weeks before the scheduled pick up date or fail to pick up your puppy we will be unable to refund the deposit.

The below video shows Luna in 2018 with one of the sheep in her flock. She is an excellent live stock guardian as you can see in the video. Luna is a now a very large female Great Pyrenees born in January 2018. Like her father, she has a mane of long hair around her neck.

Great Pyrenees are truly gentle giants who are great herd protectors but CAN also BE wonderful family dogs.

Terence found a home with a family in Charlotte NC in May of 2020. His mom is Sophi and father is Palomo. At 8 weeks he was very calm, cuddly and didn’t even chew on fingers…that much.

The Breed

Overview

This very devoted and protective breed makes for a great guardian of both his family and livestock. An obedient dog, the Great Pyrenees is gentle and affectionate, but also relatively serious. The Great Pyrenees is a loveable large breed that reminds many of a teddy bear.

Character

Sometimes stubborn and independent, the Great Pyrenees is very loyal but wary of unfamiliar people or animals. Basically well mannered and affectionate, this breed does do well for companion purposes but shows his true colors in a country environment.

Temperament

Gentle, affectionate, obedient and eager to please, this breed does exceptionally well as a guardian of livestock. Commonly used for sheep and cattle. As the Great Pyrenees can be willful, training can be difficult. Good with other animals, and does surprisingly well with cats.

Care

Shedding heavily once a year, the Great Pyrenees requires much maintenance during this period. Regular brushing is always necessary with a medium to long haired breed, and should be brushed all the way to the
undercoat to prevent matting. Occasional baths are acceptable.

Coat

The Great Pyrenees has a beautiful solid white double coat. The outer coat must be coarse and long, and is either straight or very slightly wavy. The undercoat should be thick and soft, somewhat like cotton. The coat of this breed is weather resistant.

Training

The Great Pyrenees are very eager to work and please their owner. With the right training techniques, a dominant handler, and proven methods, this breed should be very obedient and loyal.

Activity

The Great Pyrenees does not do well in apartment life, and should always have a medium to large sized yard. Regular runs off lead are best for this large dog, but supervised walks will also do.
